"This & That"
There are a few piano pieces I want to re-record for quality but it's so time consuming.
I know it will take a month or more to relearn each piece and play them at a performance quality good enough to record. But this is a good year to do it!
Dragon's Thought Preview
A piano piece that gets the fingers moving! It should be at 170 bpm but the keyboard can't handle the speed, ha!

Re-recording an old piece and adding a hell of an intro to it!

Relearning an old piece. I think it's harder to relearn them than it is to make up new ones!
One of my favorite piano pieces and I feel it deserves a better recording than it currently has.

Relearning Pains
Trying to get into the wedding spirit! This was written for my brothers' wedding in early April of '92 I believe. I think there is a video of it, would love to see it! No matter, it's trickling out of my skull a little at a time. Not unlike pulling teeth! Very happy when it's done.
She's Holding My Heart
Shit quality, trying to relearn it to use as Piano Sonata No. 1 in F Major, 2nd mvnt.

"Forever"
Untitled (Forever/Seeing her Again), piano only
Came up with this when I was in a good place personally in my life and the relationship with my future wife.
The first part of the piece ended up in the song "Forever" and the second part was used in "Seeing her Again"
Untitled (Forever)
New idea, Let me know what you think, thanks!

"Lullaby for Lyla"
I wrote my son a few days ago:
"You talked a while back concerning composing, about having an idea and shaping it. Sort of structuring it before you begin to actually write it."
I wrote a lullaby for Lyla when she was born. Very short, very sweet, just what it was supposed to be.
From the time I wrote it I always new it was "just a beginning" so much more I wanted to do with it
but wasn't appropriate at the time.
Well it has been picking at my brain again and I have to do something about it or I'll go nuts.
I have the melodies. I know how it will sound on the piano. I think I know how it will be orchestrated or at least some of the voicing. What's there is gentle and soft at the beginning and growing over
several bars and of course getting ridiculously huge.
But I haven't played a note yet. I need to make time to get downstairs and play a little.
Do you want my progress on it? Keep in mind it more than likely will be completely wrong or unorthodox with what you're learning or how the mainstream would do it.
Of course I'll start out using piano to get things in motion. You can orchestrate it yourself and see how it differs from what I'm doing. Up to you but I have to do something with it before I start drooling like an idiot!
It's coming along pretty good. Tristan has even started orchestrating it!

"Non-Original Pieces"
Piano Sonata 14 in C# minor, 1st mvnt. (Moonlight Sonata)
Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata played on the
Korg M50, what a great instrument!
I'm not a performer, I compose, so I'm more interested in the sound and playability of this piano sample rather than how well I played the piece. I've been looking for a long time for virtual piano samples that wouldn't set me back several hundreds of dollars and I found it in "4Front's True Pianos" I'm using the Diamond Module set on Cloudy, 75% room size and 50% reverb. To close your eyes and play is like being in a huge empty cathedral! Just what "Moonlight" needed.
